The “50 Best” rankings, managed by the UK-based William Reed Business Media, spotlight the finest restaurants across various regions worldwide. Earlier this year, the annual 50 Best List for the Middle East and North Africa was unveiled. More recently, an extended list of Asia’s best restaurants, ranked from 51 to 100 for 2024, was revealed, showcasing five Indian establishments. The top 50 restaurants for the year will be announced later this month.
Among the notable entries in the 51 to 100 list for Asia’s Best Restaurants 2024 are three Mumbai restaurants: Americano (ranked 61st), The Bombay Canteen (ranked 70th), and Ekaa (ranked 98th). Delhi NCR also secured two spots, with Comorin in Gurugram ranked 79th and Dum Pukht in New Delhi ranked 87th.
Beyond India, Gaa in Bangkok, led by Indian chef Garima Arora, also stood out. The restaurant earned a second Michelin star in 2023. Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh, a Mexican-Indian restaurant in Bangkok by renowned chef Gaggan Anand, secured the 54th position.
Leading the extended list was L’Effervescence in Tokyo. The 51-100 list showcases restaurants from 16 Asian cities, with Singapore and Tokyo dominating with eight restaurants each. Notable inclusions from last year’s list were Bukhara at ITC Maurya in Delhi and The Table in Mumbai. Americano ranked 66th and Ekaa 93rd in the 2023 list.
The highly anticipated top 50 restaurants for Asia in 2024 will be revealed at an awards ceremony in Seoul, South Korea, scheduled for March 26, 2024.
