Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the Deepam 2.0 scheme in Srikakulam. He initiated the distribution of free gas cylinders and interacted with beneficiaries. He mentioned that this scheme, launched with a budget of ₹2,684 crore, will benefit millions of people. In the evening, he is scheduled to hold a review meeting with officials.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the Deepam 2.0 scheme. On Friday, during his visit to Eedupuram village in Ichchapuram Mandal, Srikakulam district, CM Chandrababu initiated the distribution of free gas cylinders. He visited the home of a woman named Shanthamma and personally handed her a gas cylinder. Then, he lit the gas stove himself and brewed tea. During this time, he inquired about her well-being, asking about the number of family members in her home and how many were benefiting from government schemes. Later, he drank tea with Union Minister Rammohan Naidu and Ministers Nadendla Manohar, Achchennaidu, and Kondapalli Srinivas. Afterwards, CM Chandrababu distributed a pension to another elderly woman living alone on the same street.
Earlier, when CM Chandrababu arrived in Srikakulam district, he was warmly welcomed by ministers, MLAs, and officials. He held a special meeting with TDP leaders on a bus near the helipad.
The government released ₹2,684 crore for the first year of the free gas cylinder scheme, with a check of ₹894 crore handed over to petroleum companies for the first phase. Speaking at a public meeting on this occasion, Chandrababu expressed his dissatisfaction with the previous YSRCP government, stating that it did not benefit the people in any way. He emphasized that the coalition government would support the people in every possible way. He mentioned that he would not spare those who do wrong but would not engage in political vendettas either. Later, Chandrababu held a meeting with district officials, ministers, and MLAs in Srikakulam.
Chandrababu will be staying overnight in Srikakulam. Tomorrow, he will initiate road repair works in Vizianagaram district. The Chief Minister will personally participate in filling potholes on the road near Puritipenta in Gajapathinagaram Mandal. In the evening, he will review the progress of the Bhogapuram Airport project and hold a meeting with officials.
