Apple is anticipated to unveil its next-generation smartwatch, the rumored Apple Watch X (10), alongside the iPhone 16 models in September. In the meantime, leaked photos of a prototype for a new Apple Watch strap have emerged online. These recent images display a silicone band for the Apple Watch featuring a metal clasp.
Apple Watch Band Prototype: What to Anticipate
In a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), a tipster named StellaFudge has posted several images of a silicone Apple Watch band prototype that was never released by Apple.
Rather than featuring a traditional pin on one part of the band, this prototype includes an adjustable metal clasp with a clickable mechanism. The images show the band in red. In the X post, the leaker wrote: “The clasp is attached with a pin bar to secure it to one end. The actual locking mechanism itself is extremely simple and has a very satisfying click. It adjusts similarly to a sport band but offers greater wrist support.”
Apple Prototypes That the Company Might Have Abandoned
Previously leaked Apple prototypes have disclosed various concepts that the company has reportedly abandoned. Some of these prototypes eventually influenced the design of future products, while others were permanently shelved.
