Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s love story captivated fans, and their separation remains a poignant moment for many. The couple fell in love during the filming of the 2010 movie Ye Maaya Chesave and tied the knot in 2017. However, their marriage ended in 2021, leaving their admirers heartbroken. Interestingly, Samantha once issued Naga Chaitanya an ultimatum about disclosing their relationship to his family.
In a past interview, Chaitanya revealed that he was initially hesitant to share the news of their relationship with his family despite Samantha’s repeated requests. According to The Indian Express, Samantha eventually gave him a playful yet firm warning: she would tie a ‘rakhi’ on him if he didn’t inform his parents. This unexpected threat motivated Chaitanya to take action, and he soon secured his family’s approval. Reflecting on the incident, he shared, “Her threat took me by surprise, and shortly after, I spoke to my parents about her, gaining their consent.”
Though the reasons behind their divorce remain undisclosed, fans speculated widely. Criticism also surfaced when Naga Chaitanya recently married actress Sobhita Dhulipala on December 4, 2024. Meanwhile, Samantha was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, a year after their separation.
On the professional front, Naga Chaitanya is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Thandel with Sai Pallavi, scheduled to hit theaters on February 7. Samantha, on the other hand, will star in the Telugu movie Maa Inti Bangaram and the web series Rakt Brahmand alongside Aditya Roy Kapoor.
