Shah Rukh Khan Confirms Reunion with Siddharth Anand for King, Promises an Entertaining Spectacle
At a glamorous event in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan officially announced his next major project, King, which will be directed by Siddharth Anand, the filmmaker behind blockbusters like Pathaan and WAR. The superstar shared that filming is already underway, with the current schedule taking place in Mumbai. Speaking to fans about the project, SRK said, “I’m shooting in Mumbai right now. My director Siddharth Anand is very sweet—he made Pathaan. I promise this film will entertain you a lot, and you’ll have a great time.”
In a lighthearted moment during the event, Shah Rukh humorously commented on a reel of his past hits playing in the background, saying, “‘Shah Rukh Khan in and as Pathaan,’ ‘Shah Rukh Khan in and as Dunki,’ ‘Shah Rukh Khan in and as Jawan… That’s enough. Now, ‘Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan… King.’” He then added with a laugh, “Thoda show-off ho gaya.”
The actor concluded his remarks with a heartfelt message to his fans: “I’m going to work very hard, and Siddharth Anand’s entire team is equally dedicated. Inshallah, we’ll create a fantastic film that entertains and brings happiness to everyone.”
With Siddharth Anand at the helm, expectations for King are sky-high, given his track record of delivering action-packed blockbusters. The film’s shooting schedule is expected to span 6 to 7 months and will take place across various international locations. It is currently set for a 2026 release.
King marks SRK’s first major project following his extraordinary success in 2023, where he delivered two consecutive Rs 1000-crore hits with Pathaan and Jawan. While Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, earned an estimated Rs 436 crore worldwide, it didn’t match the commercial triumph of his earlier releases.
Adding to the excitement, King will feature Shah Rukh Khan sharing screen space with his daughter, Suhana Khan, for the first time. The film will also see him team up with Abhishek Bachchan, who is rumored to play the antagonist.
