Shoojit Sircar I Want To Talk: Emotional & Box Office Ride

I Want To Talk Box Office Day 6: Abhishek Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar’s Emotional Drama Faces Challenges on First Wednesday

Shoojit Sircar, one of the industry’s most acclaimed directors, is known for creating films that not only entertain but also leave a lasting impact. His latest release, I Want To Talk, starring Abhishek Bachchan, aims to spark meaningful conversations. However, despite its strong messaging, the film has faced challenges at the box office.

The movie opened with a modest collection of ₹25 lakh in India, followed by ₹55 lakh on its second day. Since then, its performance has been inconsistent. According to a report from Sacnilk, the film earned only ₹12 lakh on its first Wednesday (Day 6), bringing its total earnings to ₹1.82 crore.

The film tells the story of Arjun, a single father raising his daughter Reya after separating from his wife. A brilliant marketing professional in the U.S., Arjun’s life takes a devastating turn when he is diagnosed with advanced-stage laryngeal cancer, leaving him with only 100 days to live. Determined to make the most of his remaining time, he dedicates these days to being with his loved ones.

I Want To Talk received 3.5 stars from Times of India, which praised Sircar’s understated storytelling. The review noted, “Arjun is bruised but not broken.” Sircar’s narrative style—seen in films like Piku and October—is marked by a quiet intensity. The emotions in I Want To Talk are often unspoken, conveyed through pauses and stillness. This subtle approach builds up to unexpected emotional climaxes, drawing viewers into the story’s depth.
