Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film with director Rajkumar Periyasamy has been officially titled ‘Amaran.’

Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s highly anticipated film, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and tentatively known as ‘SK21’, has now been officially titled ‘Amaran.’ The movie, which was initially speculated to be a biopic on Major Mukund Varadarajan, has been confirmed with Sivakarthikeyan himself revealing that he portrays Major Mukund Varadarajan in the film.

The title and teaser of ‘Amaran’ have been unveiled by the makers ahead of Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday on February 17. Kamal Haasan, extending his wishes to the actor, shared the teaser and wrote, “Happy birthday dear brother @Siva_Kartikeyan. I wish you a long life. #Amaran Delighted to release the title teaser of the movie.”

Sivakarthikeyan expressed his honor in portraying Major Mukund Varadarajan, and he invited the audience to get ready for a journey filled with courage and valor. The film, produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International in collaboration with Sony Pictures Films India, features Sai Pallavi as the female lead. Described as a high-budget pan-Indian film, ‘Amaran’ focuses on the real-life challenges faced by Indian soldiers, including the events surrounding the 2016 surgical strikes.
