This Apple iPhone is now a discontinued product

Apple has recently designated three more devices as obsolete. Released in 2013, the iPhone 5s is now considered obsolete globally. In addition to the iPhone 5s, the Cupertino-based company has also included the sixth-generation iPod touch and the 2015 version of the 21.5-inch iMac in this category.

What Are Apple’s Discontinued Products?

Apple states that “Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago.” Essentially, devices labeled as obsolete will no longer receive updates and will not be eligible for any repairs or services from Apple. Moreover, service providers cannot order parts for these obsolete products.

Apple iPhone 5s: An 11-Year-Old Device Now Obsolete

Apple launched the iPhone 5s in September 2013, featuring TouchID integrated into the Home button as one of its key innovations. The smartphone was powered by the A7 chip, Apple’s first 64-bit architecture iPhone chip.

In April this year, Apple added the iPhone 6s to its list of obsolete products. Below is a list of iPhones currently considered obsolete worldwide:

In other news, Apple is planning to significantly enhance Siri’s capabilities using artificial intelligence (AI). According to a report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, the new AI-driven Siri will be able to control apps on your iPhone or iPad using just your voice. With this new AI model, iPhone users can ask Siri to perform tasks such as opening specific documents, moving notes between folders, sending or deleting emails, opening particular news stories, and even summarizing articles.
