By Ram Kapoor Applauds Alia Bhatt’s Professionalism, Compares Her to Deepika Padukone
Alia Bhatt has made remarkable strides since her debut in Student of the Year, and her former co-star Ram Kapoor is full of praise for her inspiring journey. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanna, Kapoor reminisced about Alia’s early days in the industry, noting how she was underestimated during her debut alongside Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. “Everyone was so young back then. Alia was the youngest, and people doubted her chances of success,” he shared. “Many believed Varun and Sidharth had better prospects, but look at her now—she has exceeded all expectations.”
Reflecting on Alia’s innocence during her debut, Kapoor added, “She still had baby cheeks and looked so innocent. No one could have predicted she’d achieve this level of success. Hats off to her!”
He went on to commend her professionalism, calling her more dedicated than many in the industry. “I know ad filmmakers who’ve worked with her, and they say she treats everyone with respect. On set, she even calls younger directors ‘Sir.’ That’s the kind of humility that sets her apart,” Kapoor noted. Kapoor expressed confidence in her trajectory, saying, “If she continues like this, she will be the next Deepika. Professionalism is the key to success in today’s film industry.”
On the work front, Alia Bhatt is preparing for Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail. The film, part of YRF’s spy universe, marks the first female-led installment, featuring Alia alongside Sharvari and Anil Kapoor. She will also star in Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where she joins Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in leading roles.
