“Creating Spicy Garlic Paneer: A Step-by-Step Recipe Guide”

Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper (capsicum), sliced
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornflour (cornstarch) dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Chopped spring onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the paneer cubes and sauté until they turn golden brown on all sides. Remove the paneer from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the minced garlic and chopped green chilies. Sauté for a minute until the garlic becomes aromatic.
  3. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the pan. Cook until they are slightly softened, but still have some crunch, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour this sauce mixture into the pan with the vegetables.
  5. Stir well and let it cook for another minute. Then, add the cornflour mixture to the pan and stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add the sautéed paneer cubes to the pan and toss everything together until the paneer is coated evenly with the sauce.
  7. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the paneer to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped spring onions, if desired.
