Marco Day 21 Box Office: Action Thriller Rakes in ₹96.75 Crore
Unni Mukundan’s action-packed film Marco continues its remarkable success at the global box office, earning an impressive ₹96.75 crore worldwide within 21 days of its release. Premiering on December 20, 2024, the film has set a new benchmark as the highest-grossing A-rated Malayalam film ever.
Reports indicate that Marco sustained strong momentum throughout its first three weeks. In India alone, the film collected an estimated ₹55.90 crore in its first 20 days. On its 21st day, it added ₹1.05 crore across all languages. The week-wise performance showcases consistent growth: ₹27.6 crore in the first week (Malayalam: ₹27.32 crore; Hindi: ₹0.28 crore), ₹16.3 crore in the second week (Malayalam: ₹10.05 crore; Hindi: ₹4.6 crore; Telugu: ₹1.65 crore), and ₹13.05 crore in the third week (Malayalam: ₹3.17 crore; Hindi: ₹5.82 crore; Telugu: ₹2.76 crore; Tamil: ₹1.3 crore). This brings the total India net collection to ₹56.95 crore (Malayalam: ₹40.54 crore; Hindi: ₹10.7 crore; Telugu: ₹4.41 crore; Tamil: ₹1.3 crore).
On January 9, 2025, the film recorded an overall 8.33% occupancy in Malayalam theaters, with show-wise occupancy at 7.25% for morning shows, 8.36% for afternoon shows, and 9.39% for evening shows. Tamil screenings had a higher overall occupancy of 10.68%, with 11.91% for morning shows, 9.91% for afternoon shows, and 10.21% for evening shows.
Marco is a standalone spin-off of the 2019 film Mikhael. While sharing some characters, the two movies feature distinct narratives, offering fresh storytelling. Released during the festive Christmas season, Marco capitalized on the holiday crowd, significantly boosting its box office performance.
Unni Mukundan recently announced that the movie has crossed the ₹100 crore mark. Sharing the update on Instagram, he wrote, “MARCO Storms into the ₹100 CR Club Worldwide!”
