The recent conflicts within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) over the nomination of Gummanooru Jayaram, the former minister of Andhra Pradesh, have caused a stir among party members. With Gummanooru facing opposition, leaders and activists have staged protests. There are concerns that if Gummanooru is given a ticket, it may lead to the downfall of the party. What could be the reason behind this “battle of clans” in Guntakallu?
Speculations have arisen as former minister Gummanooru Jayaram, who recently joined the TDP in the presence of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the Jaiho BC Sabha, has been invited to join the TDP. In this election, Guntakallu has announced its intention to contest from the assembly segment. Telugu Desam Party leader Chandrababu Naidu confirmed that he received a request from Gummanooru regarding service to his hometown. However, they also clarified that they would oppose the entry of Gummanooru Jayaram into the TDP. Individuals affiliated with the YSRCP are questioning why someone who was seeking shelter from the YSRCP has been invited to the TDP. They argue that Gummanooru’s entry into the party would not only be detrimental but also provide no benefit. In response, supporters of the TDP, including former MLA Jitendra Goud, have protested in front of the Guntakallu TDP office. They made opposing remarks against Jayaram. They also made loud noises against Jayaram’s family members, who strongly criticized him. Telugu Desam Party leaders question how Jayaram, who strongly criticized Chandrababu, was brought into the party. They wonder what decision Chandrababu will make. They also argue that Jayaram will flee if he is caught in trouble. It remains to be seen what decision Chandrababu will make!
