Cricket Australia has confirmed that the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and hosts Australia will commence on November 22 in Perth. The five-match series will progress to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney subsequently.
Perth’s newest Test venue has witnessed four Tests thus far, all won by the home side. Despite hosting India during the 2018-19 tour, no Test was included during the 2020-21 series.
The second Test, a D/N encounter, is slated to begin on December 6 in Adelaide. Last time in Adelaide, India faced a dismal defeat after being dismissed for just 36 runs. However, this time, they have a nine-day gap to prepare for the pink-ball Test.
The Gabba in Brisbane, known as Australia’s fortress, will host the third Test. The fourth and fifth Tests are scheduled as the traditional Boxing Day and New Year’s Test matches at the MCG and the SCG, respectively.
Border-Gavaskar Series on November 22
Prior to India’s arrival, Pakistan will engage in six white-ball games in Australia. These will include three D/N one-day games at the MCG, Adelaide Oval, and Perth Stadium, followed by a three-match T20I series concluding on November 18.
Following India’s tour, Pakistan is scheduled for six white-ball matches in Australia, including three D/N ODIs and a three-match T20I series ending on November 18, setting the stage for an exciting cricket season down under.
