Cheese rice cutlets are a delightful snack or appetizer that are easy to make and incredibly tasty.
Prepataion of Cheese rice cutlets:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked rice (preferably leftover rice)
- 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella work well)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers (any color)
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Oil for shallow frying
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, grated cheese, chopped onions, bell peppers, green chilies, coriander leaves, red chili powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix everything well until thoroughly combined.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a cutlet or patty. You can shape them into round or oval shapes, as per your preference. Repeat this process with the remaining mixture.
- Place the bread crumbs in a shallow plate. Take each cutlet and coat it evenly with the bread crumbs. Ensure that the cutlets are coated well on all sides.
- Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying. Once the oil is hot, place the coated cutlets carefully into the pan. Fry them in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the cutlets on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides. This usually takes about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Once done, remove the cutlets from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the cheese rice cutlets hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney. They make a delicious snack or appetizer for any occasion!
